Visit Legislators

One barrier to gaining equal rights for transgender people is that too many of our public officials have never met transgender people or heard our stories. It is essential for our movement that we visit the elected officials who represent us.

Lobby Day

NCTE annually holds two days of training and lobbying in Washington, DC. We invited you to join us. More information is available on our Lobby Day page..

Establishing a relationship with your legislators is one of the best ways to get transgender issues on the national agenda and advance the causes that matter to our community. NCTE will give you the tools and training to make your lobby visits effective and enjoyable, including information on your members of Congress, policy briefings and expert skills trainings. We'll even help you schedule appointments on the Hill.

We hope you'll join NCTE and fellow transgender advocates from across the country at our annual Washington Lobby Days!

Resources

NCTE has also made available a how-to kit for contacting or visiting your state or federal legislator.
